Introduction to an integrated photonics mission to China
The Photonics field is a key enabler for communication and other advanced technologies and is developing rapidly along different regions in the world. Europe has obtained a strong position, which is partially the result of significant public support and investments in the Photon Delta, a region in the Eindhoven area that spans between the Netherlands and Belgium.
Professor Ton Backx is the CEO of Photon Delta. He aims to globally align stakeholders within the field of photonics, in order to achieve a smooth integration of this technology into the market. The way to achieve this is by defining a global roadmap, which will guide the industry for the upcoming decennia. The roadmap will be drafted during a symposium that is planned to take place June 14-16, 2017 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
About the forum
For the forum, it is aimed to select 150 specialists from industries (~60%) , institutes (~30%) and others (governmental organizations) (~10%) to jointly draft the first version of the Roadmap. It is essential that all regions with significant activities on this topic are represented. Photon Delta (EU), AIM Photonics (USA) and other regional consortia from Israel, East Asia, and Singapore will participate.
The forum will include discussions between professor Ton Backs, experts in the field of Photonics and the audience.
Detailed program will follow soon
