Advanced Materials have enabled the technology revolution of the last decades. By engineering materials with specific functionalities, the semiconductor sector has developed industries that are driving the telecommunication and sensor-based industries. By developing and optimizing precision engineering technologies, the potential of Advanced Materials is expanded and new properties can be generated that lead to novel applications and even novel sectors, such as Integrated Photonics, or Quantum Computing.
Researchers, engineers, developers and designers strongly depend on each other to introduce new technological developments into the market.
The Netherlands has a strong knowledge base in Advanced Materials, as well as strong precision engineering skills. China, in recent years, is investing deeply in the relevant sector too, and China’s potential is materialized in the success of for instance Huawei, which has become a global ICT provider and developer. The seminar brings together Dutch and Chinese community with interest to learn about the possibilities for joint research and development, discuss expertise in both countries, and to share views on developments in the field.
